“Reducing Risk and Meeting Business Security Requirements”

Business is becoming ever more complex and with the increased connectivity of systems along with ever more sensitive data being managed, the need to protect these systems is critical. Almost weekly we hear of data breaches of sensitive data which significantly impact the business, resulting in financial losses, customer and stakeholder goodwill losses or negative perceptions of the company. In some cases, even incarceration of key business leaders has resulted. If your business has a need to protect its intellectual property – and honestly what business does not, you must look to implementing proper controls within the business. On average, typical manufacturing firms loose $200,000 per year to various types of fraud. The congressmen – U.S. Senator Paul Sarbanes (D-MD) and U.S. Representative Michael G. Oxley (R-OH) may have been the bane of many an IT manager for the audit and security requirements that came with Sarbox, but perhaps they got it right. By instituting proper controls on business data access, confirming security and separation of responsibilities companies can significantly reduce their risk that IT and business systems could present. Sarbox was a start but to really reduce risk, you must go farther.

In this session we will look at what is available within the Infor SyteLine ERP Industrial ( SyteLine) ERP version 9.x as well as what you can do with some small personalization with Dataviews and the CSI built in tools to really get a handle on who has access to what for controls.
