Microsoft Excel is one of the most widely used software applications in the business world. So, with its widespread use, it is natural that Infor SyteLine ERP would have an Excel Add-in that aids users in creating financial reports.  This feature is available in an effort to assist SyteLine users in creating reports that are easy to read and are presented in a format that is familiar to everyone in the organization.

To access the Excel Add-in, go to the InforXtreme support site and search for the “Latest Office Integration”.  Here you will find a downloadable zip file. Follow the download instructions for the Excel Add-in.  One important item to note is that the computers using the Excel Add-in must have a connection to the  SQL server for SyteLine, in order to receive the continuous updates that Infor releases.  The Excel Add-in will need to be installed on the computers of anyone in the organization that will be creating and running financial reports. For end users that are simply receiving financial reports as part of a management distribution list, you may simply copy and paste special, selecting the values only option.

Not only is the Excel Add-in useful from a familiarity perspective, but it also contains some additional formulas that will pull information from your Infor SyteLine general ledger tables.  There are 10 basic Excel Add-in formulas, but the most common ones are:

• SLDESC- This pulls in the account description from the Chart of Accounts
• SLGL- This pulls in the monthly change in the account value
• SLNGL- This pulls in the monthly change in the account value and changes the sign.  (Unless this is done, credits always show as negatives).
• SLGLBAL- This pulls in the YTD change in the account value.
• SLNGLBAL- This pulls in the YTE change in the account value and changes the sign.

In addition to the preset formulas, these reports also offer a drill down feature.  This will allow the user the ability to right click on a number and view the transactions that make up that number.

These features are just another way that Infor SyteLine ERP is creating quality visibility into your business.
